Leading with Confidence

This workshop will:

  • Focus on helping young women define their strenghts and contributions
  • Elicit sources of confidence
  • Help to develop the difference between how the individual views herself vs. how others view her

Learning Objectives

The participants will be able to:

  • Describe their strengths
  • Assess sources of confidence that play from their strengths
  • Assess how they are perceived by others and how they want to be perceived
  • Put their confidence in play in reaching their personal potential

Stepping Forward: How to Meet the Challenges of College Life

This panel is comprised of young college women in various years of their college career. They will discuss their backgrounds and college experiences with an emphasis on how to be successful when making that transition. A question-and-answer time period will be provided as well.

Learning Objectives

The participants will be able to:

  • Compare and Contrast the similarities and differences between high school and college life
  • Identify ways to handle challenges in college
  • Relate their high school experiences to that of the panelists
  • Collect pieces of advice for a successful transition to college life

Dining Etiquette: My Mealtime Manners Matter

Does it really take more than one fork to eat a meal? Are you passing the bread in the right direction and what are you supposed to do with your napkin when you get up to go to the restroom? Which glass is yours, the one to your left or right? Should you touch up your lip gloss or lipstick at the table? You don't have to live in a mansion to need to know the basics of dining and table etiquette.

From place setting basics to the proper conversation topics, we will explore all you need to know to pass etiquette inspection at the dinner or banquet table!

Learning Objectives

This session will:

  • Convey the importance of dining and table etiquette at both formal and informal meals
  • Equip young women with the skills to navigate a formal dinner
  • Practice proper dining and table etiquette in an informal setting

Dress to Impress for Success

In our society, there are many great opportunities for teen girls. However, there are even MORE qualified teen girls who are ready to step up and claim those opportunities. You may meet the qualifications, but your attire may be the difference between you owning the position or just dreaming about it.

Learning Objectives

In this session:

  • the participant will learn what it means to dress to impress; and
  • the participant will learn what to wear to an interview.
