The Young Women’s Leadership Symposium Deb Brewer Award focuses on how the dedication and excellence of one woman can help develop the foundation for future generations of women leaders. Breaking down barriers and empowering all women overcoming gender misconceptions takes a talented and fearless individual. Recipients of this award are women who are seen as leaders and mentors making a difference moving women’s initiatives forward at an accelerated pace.

This award is founded in honor of Deb Brewer, who not only embodies the award criteria, but was among the first individual supporter and corporate sponsor of the Young Women’s Leadership Symposium.

    At Fowler White Boggs, Deb served as the firm’s Director of Human Resources with oversight for organizational development, policies and programs covering employment, benefits, compensation, performance management, employee relations, recruiting and retention and compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. Prior to joining Fowler White Boggs P.A., she initialized the corporate staffing function for First Advantage Corporation, a NASDAQ listed corporation specializing in risk mitigation and consumer screening. Before that, she served as Executive Director-Human Resources at Catalina Marketing Corporation, a targeted marketing services company in St. Petersburg, FL. While at Catalina, Deb was instrumental in developing a People Strategy for two operating divisions encompassing Recruiting and Selection, Sales Assimilation Training, Succession Planning and Career Development and participated in several senior management level strategy sessions. Deb’s career has remained in the corporate arena for the past ten years. Prior to that she spent 14 years in the professional services sector specializing in retainer-based executive search. She is a graduate of the Strategic Leadership for Women in HR program at Simmons College for Women in Boston, MA., and is certified in the EQI instrument for Emotional Intelligence. She has served as a board member of Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa, Inc. as Vice Chair for Human Resources for the past seven years. Deb now works as an Interior Designer at Brewer’s Custom Homes, LLC, a residential construction company. Deb has always had a passion fo rInterior design and fashion, so now she is getting to manifest that through her design work for her clients!
